The FIFA Confederations Cup 2009 was the eighth edition of this tournament held by the Federation Internationale de Football Association (FIFA). With the idea of serving as a test for the World Cup in 2010, was held in South Africa between 14 and 28 June. It was attended by eight teams, being the host country and a guest of the current world champions Italy, another guest. The other teams will qualify through continental competitions of each confederation.
The Brazil were crowned champion, winning his third title of the competition by winning the final against the United States by 3 to 2.
